Three Strategies to Help Employers Control Health Plan Costs

Many employers are currently evaluating options to lower the cost of their health plans for both the organization and for their employees. The impact of COVID-19 has accelerated this process for many organizations in an effort to protect their bottom line and protect their workforce. Join us next month on June 15 for a discussion focused on strategies to help bend the cost curve on employer sponsored health plans.  Our panel of subject matter experts will take a deep dive into solutions pertaining to pharmacy, telehealth and direct to primary care strategies. They will be sharing trends and research along with applications for fully insured and self-funded plans.

About our Panelists

  • Pharmacy – Jeff Eichholz, Pharmacy Practice Leader, Lockton Companies. Prior to Lockton, Jeff served with Aetion, CVS Health and Express Scripts. His current work includes PBM procurement and renewals, benefit contract negotiation, ongoing vendor and contract management, identification of key trend drivers, as well as plan design and clinical program savings opportunities to improve health and manage total spend. Jeff has over fifteen years of pharmacy benefit management experience, focused on developing innovative and clinically sound formularies and utilization management programs to help reduce pharmacy spend. His experience managing medication spend spans both pharmacy and medical benefits.
  • Telemedicine – Lou Daniels is the CEO and Founder of Call A Doctor Plus, a national provider of virtual care services.  Lou is a 40-year employee benefit industry executive having served as Executive Vice President for Willis, overseeing North America Middle Market Sales.  Lou has had a front-row seat in the evolution and utilization of telehealth solutions.  He will share his insight into what works and what doesn't work when employers implement telehealth to reduce the overall cost of healthcare in both the self-funded and fully-funded group plans touching on topics like ROI, reduced ER visits, and family coverage.   He will then focus on the booming interest in the need, access, and cost of family mental health services and why telehealth may be an important consideration at your next renewal.
  • Direct to Primary Care – Dr. Kym Moyer is a board certified Family Medicine Physician. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, then attended four years of medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tampa Bay, FL. In residency, she served as Chief Resident for her family medicine program at Manatee Memorial Hospital. During residency, Dr. Moyer developed a passion to provide not only high quality care, but healthcare that was convenient, affordable, and price transparent for her patients. She returned to her roots in Tennessee and started Magnolia Family Medicine, a direct primary care practice.
  • Imran Huda MD has called Nashville home for over 20 years. After graduating from Vanderbilt University with a BA in chemistry, he went on to graduate summa cum laude from Meharry Medical College, with inductions into both Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. After he completed training at the University of Tennessee Internal Medicine program at St Thomas Midtown, he was selected to be chief resident of the program, leading and teaching 26 internal medicine residents. Following his residency training, he is now a board certified internal medicine physician and founder of Mobius Health DPC.
